# Can healthcare businesses use FindSlot?

**Short answer: FindSlot currently supports non-medical service businesses, not self-service clinical healthcare use.** Clinics, dental practices, and other healthcare providers should review the boundaries below and contact FindSlot support before creating an account or entering any data.

FindSlot supports appointment scheduling for non-medical service businesses. FindSlot is not currently intended for clinical healthcare services or for collecting, storing, or transmitting protected health information.

Product capabilities, contracts, and regulatory obligations can change. This page describes the current FindSlot self-service boundary and should be reviewed whenever healthcare-related features, data handling, or agreements change.

## What this means for clinics and dental practices

FindSlot previously published landing pages about clinic scheduling, dental scheduling, and clinic appointment reminders. Those pages have been retired because they could suggest that the current self-service product is intended for healthcare workflows. It is not. The old URLs now lead here so visitors, bookmarks, and existing links receive one accurate product-eligibility answer instead of an unsupported sales claim.

A clinic or dental practice must not self-onboard if its use would involve medical diagnosis, clinical treatment, rehabilitation, clinical records, insurance information, or other regulated healthcare activity. Appointment reminders do not change that boundary: a scheduling message can still expose sensitive information depending on its content, recipient, and context.

## When a business must not use self-service onboarding

Do not use the self-service product when the business:

- provides medical diagnosis, clinical treatment, rehabilitation, psychotherapy, dental treatment, or another clinical healthcare service;
- collects, stores, or transmits protected health information (PHI) in appointment names, services, notes, messages, client details, documents, or other fields;
- requires a business associate agreement (BAA) from a software provider;
- bills a U.S. health insurer electronically or participates in another workflow that may make it a covered entity under U.S. healthcare rules; or
- expects FindSlot to manage clinical records, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, health-insurance billing, or clinical documents.

These conditions are screening boundaries for the current product. They are not a complete legal test and should not be used to decide a business's regulatory status.

## Information that must not be entered into FindSlot

Do not enter medical records, symptoms, diagnoses, treatment information, prescription details, clinical documents, insurance member information, billing data, or other PHI into FindSlot. Do not use a service name, appointment note, reminder, or client field as a substitute for a clinical record. The fact that a field is available for ordinary scheduling information does not make it appropriate for healthcare data.

Businesses are responsible for understanding the information they handle and the rules that apply to them. For authoritative U.S. guidance, review the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services resources on [covered entities and business associates](https://www.hhs.gov/hipaa/for-professionals/covered-entities/index.html), [business associates](https://www.hhs.gov/hipaa/for-professionals/privacy/guidance/business-associates/index.html), and the [HIPAA Privacy Rule](https://www.hhs.gov/hipaa/for-professionals/privacy/laws-regulations/index.html).

## What about medical-adjacent or wellness businesses?

A non-medical spa, relaxation provider, coach, or general wellness business may fit FindSlot when its services are genuinely non-clinical and its booking workflow does not involve PHI, a BAA, medical records, or electronic health-insurance billing. A label such as wellness, coaching, beauty, or General does not determine eligibility by itself. The actual service and data flow matter.

If a business mixes non-medical appointments with clinical services, uses healthcare professionals in a clinical role, or is unsure whether information is PHI, it should not guess and should not begin self-service onboarding under another industry category.

## Contact support before proceeding

If any healthcare boundary is uncertain, [contact FindSlot support](https://findslot.ai/contact) and describe the service type, who provides it, what information would be entered, whether the business requires a BAA, and whether it bills a U.S. health insurer electronically. Do not include patient, client, or medical data in the support message. Do not send names, appointment details, symptoms, diagnoses, documents, insurance information, or other patient data when asking about eligibility.

Support can explain the current product boundary and review the proposed use. Contacting support does not guarantee acceptance, authorize healthcare use, or replace advice from qualified legal, privacy, security, or compliance professionals.

It is not legal advice and does not determine whether a person or organization is a covered entity, business associate, healthcare provider, or otherwise subject to a particular law.
